Monitoring of mercury, cadmium, nickel and chromium(VI) in river water |
|
|
A unique system was developed by ISTRAN for Waterworks SIG Geneva, Switzerland: Mercury, cadmium, nickel and chromium(VI) in the Arve river is being monitored in unattended mode and with a response time less than 5 minutes! The monitoring system consists of three independent measuring units, the first measuring simultaneously Hg and Cd, the second Ni, and the last Cr(VI). And all those at an extremely low concentration level: Hg, Cd, Ni, Cr(VI) below 1, 5, 10, and 20 ug/l, respectively. In the case some metal concentration exceeds the threshold value, an alarm signal is launched. The system is already operating in the monitoring station of SIG Geneva over 5 years, checking the water quality of the river Arve. |
