Istran’s new product, the on-line arsenic analyzer EcaMon 10 has recently been tested in an arsenic removal plant near Rome in Velletri. The system monitored arsenic concentrations in three different points in the technology, the last being water entering the water supply system.

The arsenic concentrations measured were in the range of few ug/l up to 60 ug/l. One measurement was completed within 5 min, even at the low ppb range. Only one reagent solution containing diluted mineral acid was used, with a consumption less than 1 liter in a week. The running costs for the 4-week testing period (including reagents, electrode, electricity, one measurement in an hour) were under 50 €.
